Job Title: Federal Programs Coordinator
Reports to: Senior Director of Federal Programs and Strategic Innovation
Supervises: ICARES Site Coordinators and program staff
Salary Range: Based on experience
Term: Time-limited, grant-funded
Primary Responsibility
The Federal Programs Coordinator will provide fiscal responsibility, accountability, and administrative support with primary responsibilities in the area of federal programs, and grants management.
General Responsibilities
- Provides focus and coordination for Consolidated and ESSER Federal Programs.
- Oversees the development of comprehensive program plans, implementation of planned programs, and monitoring of budgets in accordance with established federal, state, and local policies.
- Coordinates, implements, and supervises federally funded programs and activities in accordance with the District’s Consolidated Application and supplemental grant applications.
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate overall programs, services, and activities to ensure they meet state objectives and the needs and interests of students.
- Coordinates and implements all aspects of the Innovative Childcare and Remote Extended Support (ICARES) program
- Manages ICARES personnel to include hiring, evaluating, assigning special duties, monitoring attendance, travel reports, and granting leave.
- Require, manage, and provide staff development opportunities for staff and volunteers and conduct regular staff meetings.
- Acts as a liaison among Coordinators, Administrators, and other appropriate personnel in the coordination of all state and federal resources to ensure student academic needs are met.
- Participates in the budget development activities for all federal programs.
- Updates LEA Plan to ensure all goals and objectives meet guidelines and are aligned with the academic needs of students in the district.
- Obtains and uses evaluative findings, including student achievement data, to examine curriculum and instruction program effectiveness.
- Completes annual application and evaluation program.
- Recommends changes needed to improve the consolidated federal programs.
- Evaluates all federal legislation, projects, and programs for grant, entitlement, and allocation opportunities relevant to the needs of the district.
- Assist with the drafting of project proposals and reports, including the writing and development of program goals, objectives, and budgets for federal funding of programs.
- Assist with the preparation federal program grant applications
- Maintain social distancing requirements to include 3 W’s to Wear a Mask, Wait 6 feet apart, and Wash Hands for staff and students.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university; AND
- Four years of experience in a public school setting; OR An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- Ability to communicate effectively to multiple audiences
- Ability to perform all tasks identified in this job description
- Valid driver’s license
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Hold a valid North Carolina Professional Educator’s License;
- Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to the State of North Carolina requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Education Administration or related field
- Knowledge of afterschool programs, communities, and effective management techniques
- Experience with out of school time programs such as the 21st CCLC programs
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
